HearthStone Homes hosts 2nd Annual MDA Golf Event
Wednesday, August 13, 2008 – Omaha homebuilder, HearthStone Homes, will partner with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the community to help those with neuromuscular disease at the 2nd Annual HearthStone Homes MDA Golf Classic, Tuesday, September 23.
The 1st Annual Golf Event raised over $70,000. With an additional golf course and 36 additional foursomes, HearthStone Homes hopes to raise even more this year.
Dollars raised help fund worldwide research efforts. Additionally, funds support MDA pediatric and adult neuromuscular clinics held at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. MDA dollars also assist in the provision of prescribed durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs, leg braces and communication devices. The local MDA office also provides support groups for patients and caregivers. These important services cannot compare, however, to what many youngsters with muscular dystrophy consider the best week of the year: MDA Summer Camp. The Nebraska camp is held in June each year at Camp Comeca in Cozad.
